Do you have an idea that could change lives? UnLtd is giving the creative, media and marketing industry an opportunity to invent a ‘product with purpose’ that UnLtd can create and sell to raise funds for children at risk.

The competition runs in July 2019 with the finalists pitching their ideas to the UnLtd ‘Great Sharks’ live on stage at Advertising Week APAC. The winner will receive a trip to Advertising Week New York, see their product brought to life and help thousands of young people at risk.

The idea must be cool, good, in line with UnLtd’s brand and purpose and yield maximum return.


UnLtd is a social purpose organisation connecting the media, marketing and creative industry with charities helping children and young people at risk. Our purpose is to ensure that every young Australian has unlimited opportunities, no matter what circumstances they’re born into. So far, we have already generated over $55m in social impact value and our goal is to make that $100m by 2021.

The Brief:

We want to create a social enterprise, a product or service that we can sell with proceeds coming back to UnLtd, to help thousands more children at risk. We’re looking for a big idea that is cool, good and helps us drive maximum returns to break the cycle of youth disadvantage for good. What we are looking for is:

  • A product or service that UnLtd can produce and sell with maximum level of return on investment
  • The product can either be a B2B product/service specifically targeted for the media, marketing and creative industry or a B2C product/service
  • #goodisthenewcool so the product needs to be cool, ethical and align with UnLtd’s brand and mission
  • The pitch must also include a go-to-market plan for the product and a top-line commercial breakdown
  • For inspiration, check out social enterprise brands such as Thank You, Who Gives a Crap or The Good Beer Co

Judging Criteria:

  • Quality and ‘coolness’ of the idea (25%)
  • How easy and realistic the idea is to launch - investment needed, timelines, resources required (25%)
  • Size of opportunity – target market size, scalability and return of investment (25%)
  • Alignment with UnLtd’s purpose and values (25%)


  • Submissions close on 24 July at 11pm with finalists informed on 26 July 2019
  • Finalists must be available to pitch their product in front of a judging panel and live audience at Advertising Week APAC on 1 August at 12:15pm – 12:50pm
  • Judges will decide the winner live on stage on 1 August 2019
  • Winner will receive 2 x economy return flights from SYD/MEL/PER or BNE to New York, 3 nights of accommodation and 2 tickets to Advertising Week New York 2019.
  • All entrants must be 18 years or older
  • All ideas must be original work of the entrant
  • You may enter as an individual or as a team of two
  • All entrants agree to give all intellectual property (IP) to UnLtd
  • The winning product will be created and sold by UnLtd with all profits going to UnLtd to help youth at risk. Whilst there is every intention to bring the product to life, UnLtd cannot guarantee this and UnLtd reserves the right to make changes to the original idea if required to ensure feasibility of the product.
