Braydon's story

"I was in a pretty bad place before I met MMAD. The week that I met them, I actually… I was at an all time low. And then, meeting them, going in on the Friday, I thought, I’ll go in once more and then I went again and I thought, “OK, I’ll give this another few shots”, and then in the end MMAD ended up saving my life, they saved me from myself.

I’ve just overcome so many things through here: I’ve overcome mental health, addictions – all kinds of things. Even just being around the wrong types of people or issues with my family.

Over the year and a half I’ve been here, I don’t think I’d even be alive right now if it wasn’t for MMAD. I’ve always thought, “I wanna make music for me, I wanna do things for me”; I have to admit I was a selfish person back in the day and now, this is what I wanna do – this is actually how to do something good – how to help others.

Brayden is now a Youth Ambassador and trainee youth mentor at MMAD.
