The media, marketing and advertising foundation UN LTD has doubled the number of charity partners it’s supporting this year, today announcing 43 organisations that will receive support as part of the foundation’s mission to UNdo youth disadvantage in Australia.
Across the selected programs delivered by the 2015 youth charities, UN LTD’s support will now directly impact the lives of over 91,000 young people.

GroupM employees across nine agencies in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane stopped work for their annual ‘Power of One’ day last Friday, to spend time giving back and raising funds for local UN LTD charities.
In addition to volunteering their time, the agency network came together to raise a total of over $60,000 – all in one day.

Yesterday saw the inaugural Big Clash cricket contest taken out by the media owners, who romped home against the agency boys in perfect weather conditions at Sydney Uni oval.
However, the cricket was somewhat secondary to the main aim of the day, which was to raise cash for UN LTD. With both agencies and owners pitching in the event raised more than $25,000 – all of which will go directly towards UN LTD’s mission to UNdo youth disadvantage.
The media owners, led by captain Chris Freel of Fairfax, posted 135 from their allotted 20 overs and while the agencies did complete their 20 overs, they could only post 89 in response for the loss of eight wickets.

Cricket World Cup fever is sweeping the industry and it’s all in the name of undoing youth disadvantage.
Presented by Fairfax Media, the “Big Clash” will see rival media agencies unite for the day against a combined team of competing media owners, in a special 20/20 charity cricket match for industry foundation UN LTD.
While they’re usually going in to bat against each other over clients and campaigns – the teams will put the media game aside when they take the field at Sydney Uni Oval on Tuesday 3 March.

Network Ten is getting right behind the UN LTD movement to undo youth disadvantage, launching a national Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative called TEN Gives.
Driving participation right across the company, Network Ten has established an internal committee represented by staff from myriad departments.
TEN Gives was launched in Network Ten’s Sydney station in early October 2014 and will extend into its other capital city stations during early 2015.
Bohemia ‘illustrates’ how media agencies can make a difference Launches “Radio with pictures” project with Sydney Story Factory

Media agency Bohemia has gone above and beyond its day-to-day remit, helping to create a series of powerful animations by young people with not-for-profit creative writing centre, the Sydney Story Factory.
The project, titled “Radio with Pictures”, saw Bohemians connect with generous individuals from right across the industry to help illustrate and produce more than 20 animations by young people from Indigenous and non-English speaking backgrounds. They also arranged for up-and-coming film-maker Audrey Svoboda’s business, Dirty Ice Cream, to document the young people’s creative process, and show the benefits of the program on their communication and collaboration skills, and self-confidence.

UN LTD, the foundation representing Australia’s media, marketing and advertising industry, is calling on charities dedicated to UNdoing youth disadvantage to submit proposals for to receive support in 2015.
UN LTD (pronounced ‘unlimited’) exists to channel funding and resources from the media, marketing and advertising sector to support organisations providing critical services to young people in need. In 2014 UN LTD supported over 21 charity partners helping them to build scale, seek sustainability in funding and improve their operational efficiency.

Australia’s top media companies have again united behind the UN LTD movement donating over $2 million in media inventory for 2015. These media packages will be monetized by the foundation, to directly fund programs and youth charities that are “UNdoing” youth disadvantage in Australia.
Newcomers to the UN LTD MEDIA program for 2015 include: Spotify, Mammamia, Daily Mail, Domain, oOh!, Cirrus Media, Torch, QMS, Brand New Media, Authentic Entertainment and Sound Alliance.
From the streets to the floor of NSW Parliament: how the MFA Award winners turned their entry into reality

After winning the NGEN category in the 2013 MFA Awards, John Dawson and Mark Golafshan, have worked with Youth Off The Streets to turn their entry into reality.
The #laceitup campaign will raise awareness and donations for Youth Off The Streets from young people between 13 and 17 years of age.
The challenge set out in the NGEN brief was to encourage fundraising and participation in the charity’s Sleepout campaign.

While the world’s best were kicking about in Rio, the UN LTD Cup’s third annual charity competition saw 160 media industry people battle it out for bragging rights as the industry’s futsal winners, all in the name of raising money for KidsXpress (one of UN LTD’s charity partners).
The UN LTD Cup held at Appnexus Stadium (KGV, The Rocks) is an industry fundraising event directly supporting KidsXpress, where teams are put into two pools and play a round robin to win their way into the finals. Out of the 16 teams battling it out in a highly competitive environment, the final results saw Fairfax take out the coveted award taking first place against Zenith Optimedia & Razorfish with the final score a resounding 5-0.
